Ordering Custom Apparel Without the Guesswork
Custom shirts and hats are the marketing people literally wear for you — walking billboards with a shelf life of years. Ordering them well comes down to four decisions: decoration method, garment quality, size spread, and artwork. Here is the shortcut through all four.
Screen print vs embroidery vs the rest
Screen printing rules for tees and quantity — vivid, durable, cost-effective at 24+ pieces. Embroidery owns hats, polos, and premium jackets — stitched logos read as quality. Small runs and photo-detailed art have their own digital methods; we will steer you to the right one for your design.
Quantity breaks: where prices drop
Screen printing has setup per color per design, so unit prices fall hard at 24, 48, 72, and 144 pieces. Ordering 40? Ask about pricing at 48 — sometimes more shirts costs less money.
Getting the size spread right
A safe adult spread for a mixed group: 1 S / 2 M / 2 L / 2 XL per 7 shirts, adjusting for your crowd. Order 5–10% extra — reprints of small add-on runs cost far more per shirt, and someone always shows up needing one.
Artwork that prints clean on fabric
- Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) are gold for logos.
- Fewer ink colors = lower cost on screen print.
- Dark garments need art built for dark backgrounds.
- No file? Our design team preps it — that is the job.
